• What makes AerialSphere unique?

  We are the only company that offers 360° aerial imagery that is georectified¹. Our imagery allows people to discover new vantage points outside of traditional aerial imagery. 

• What is Georectification¹?

  Georectification¹ refers to the process of image pixels being tied to real latitudes and longitudes. In other words, our images represent the ground truth.

• How do you capture your imagery?

  Our camera array is part of our patented technology. It is designed to capture high-resolution spherical imagery from a manned aircraft at an altitude of 1500-2500 feet AGL (above ground level). We’re on our third-generation array, and each generation provides better quality and accuracy. At present, we only capture the visible light spectrum.  

• Is your imagery considered oblique²?

  No, our imagery forms a 360° sphere³. Our spheres have no perspective viewing limitations. 

• What is the GSD (resolution) of your imagery?

  The resolution at nadir is a minimum of 30cm/pixel. Because our imagery is fully panoramic (360° horizontal, 180° vertical), the spatial resolution decreases the further away from nadir you measure, but expect approximately 50 cm/pixel at 0.5 miles and 100 cm/pixel at 1.0 mile away.

• How many Spheres³ have you captured?

  Over 140,000; and our catalog grows every year.

• How often do you update your imagery?

  Each coverage area gets updated imagery every other year.

• What if you don’t have coverage in my area? Do you offer custom flights?
